Information you provide

When you create an account, we collect:

• Plans, comments, and messages shared through the Platform

Tickets and guest checkout

When you buy or claim tickets (including as a guest), we may collect:

• Buyer or guest name and email address
• Optional name and email for additional seats when the organizer enables guest-detail collection
• Ticket and order records related to your purchase or claim
• Optional catch-up email preference if you opt in at guest checkout (you can unsubscribe anytime)

Information generated through use

When you use the Platform, we may collect:

• Account activity
• Interest signals, saves, and follows
• Plans you create
• Messages sent through the Platform
• Reports submitted about content or users
• Login and session information
• Device and browser information necessary for security and functionality

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Verify your email address
• Enable social features such as plans, comments, interest signals, and messaging
• Process ticket orders and deliver confirmations and QR codes
• Enable organizers to manage attendance, check-in, and communicate with attendees about their ticketed plans
• Personalize your experience
• Respond to support requests
• Investigate reports and enforce our Terms of Service
• Maintain platform security
• Send service-related communications
• Send occasional reminder and community emails (subject to your notification preferences or guest catch-up opt-in)
• Improve and develop the Platform

Private messages are stored in our database to provide messaging functionality. Messages are not routinely monitored.

However, administrators may access message content when:

• A message is reported by a user
• Investigation of a reported issue is required
• Enforcement of our Terms of Service is necessary
• Required by law

Messages are deleted when associated accounts are deleted, subject to any legal obligations to retain information.

Certain information may be visible to other signed-in members depending on your privacy settings, including:

• Username
• Name (if not hidden)
• Profile photo
• Biography
• Country and city on your profile
• Hobbies and interests
• Looking For preferences
• Age (if you choose to show it)
• Plans and comments you create

Plans you post include the event title, time, place name, and related location details you enter. Other members can see this plan information in the feed and on plan pages.

You are responsible for deciding what information you choose to share with other members. Adjust visibility where available in your privacy settings.

Where applicable under GDPR, we process personal data based on:

• Performance of a contract (providing the Platform and its features, including buying or selling tickets and sharing necessary attendee details with the organizer so they can fulfil the event)
• Legitimate interests (community safety, moderation, security, platform improvements)
• Consent (where required)
• Compliance with legal obligations

We may send:

• Account verification emails
• Password reset emails
• Security notifications
• Important service announcements
• Ticket confirmations and related service emails
• Optional occasional reminder emails and community updates (if you opt in or where applicable)

You may manage email preferences through your account settings. Certain service-related emails cannot be disabled as they are necessary for operating your account.

Separately from ConnectIRL.ie marketing preferences, organizers of ticketed plans may contact you about that event using the name and email shared for your ticket (for example venue or time updates).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share information:

• With service providers who help operate the Platform
• With the organizer of a ticketed plan when you purchase or claim a ticket: your name and email address, and any guest name or email you provide for additional seats, so they can manage attendance, check-in, and communicate with you about that event. Organizers must use this information only as described in our Terms of Service
• To comply with legal obligations
• To protect the safety, rights, or property of users and the Platform
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, or business transfer

Any third parties processing personal data on our behalf are required to protect it appropriately.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to operate the Platform and fulfill legal obligations.

When you delete your account:

• Your profile information is removed
• Your plans and comments may be removed
• Your messages are deleted
• Personal information is deleted or anonymized where reasonably possible

Certain records may be retained if required by law, for fraud prevention, security investigations, dispute resolution, or accounting, including payment and ticket records as needed.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

However, no online service can guarantee absolute security, and you use the Platform at your own risk.

Depending on your location, including under the GDPR, you may have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data
• Restrict processing
• Object to certain processing activities
• Request data portability
• Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing

You may also delete your account directly through your account settings.

The Platform is intended only for individuals aged 18 years or older.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.

If we become aware that a user is under 18, we may remove their account and associated information.

The Platform is available internationally.

By using the Platform, you understand that your information may be processed and stored in countries where our service providers operate.

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites function properly. We also use similar technologies such as local storage on your device to remember your cookie consent choice.

Essential cookies

These are necessary for:

• User authentication
• Account login sessions
• Security functions
• Core Platform functionality

Without these cookies, certain features of the Platform cannot operate properly.

Preference storage

We store your cookie consent choice locally in your browser so we do not ask you on every visit.

Analytics cookies (optional)

If you opt in via our cookie banner or cookie preferences, we load optional analytics tools to understand how the Platform is used and to improve it:

• PostHog, product events (for example sign-up, onboarding, posting a plan) and page views, tied to an anonymous or pseudonymous user id (not your email)
• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, aggregate traffic and performance metrics

These scripts are not loaded unless you enable the analytics category. You can withdraw consent at any time by updating your cookie preferences.

Featured and promoted placement metrics

When you view a featured or promoted plan in the feed, we record first-party impressions and clicks (including link button taps) so curators and promoters can see how placements perform. This is separate from optional Vercel analytics and is required to operate highlighted placements in the feed.

Marketing cookies

We do not currently use advertising or remarketing cookies. If such tools are introduced, this Policy will be updated and you will be asked for consent before they are enabled.

Most browsers allow you to:

• View stored cookies
• Delete cookies
• Block cookies
• Control cookie preferences

Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform.

We may update this Privacy & Cookie Policy from time to time.

Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

Continued use of the Platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
